The National Geographic Institute has registered 11 604 seismic events in El Hierro from July 17, according to data released Wednesday by the Civil Protection Plan for Volcanic Risk Islands (Pevolca).
Twenty-nine of these movements were recorded on Tuesday, five of them felt by the population, the largest of which 3.4 was located 3 kilometers off the coast of Frontera, 17 kilometers deep.
The ground deformations on Tuesday followed the same pattern of stability as in previous days in the horizontal components and the slick in the water caused by undersea volcanic eruption off La Restinga showed low activity.
