The volcanic landscapes of El Hierro Lazarus stunned Moya, painter and Cuban lawyer who arrived seven months ago on the island and living in La Restinga. That same nature, suddenly awakened, is that has made him live two evacuations and spend the nights outside the village.

"I try to reassure my wife and my two daughters who are in Cuba, because of the scaremongering that has been generated," he says while taking advantage of the day in La Restinga to paint pictures inspired by the eruption that happens to just one mile from home . Now working on a portrait of the new volcano, which reflects the now famous bubbly stain in the ocean, on which floats a giant restingolita, as already referred to as the first rocks reached the surface from the source eruption. "Since I arrived I was struck by this landscape with its endless gray colors and shapes, which inspired me to my minimalist paintings," he explains, brush painting in oils.

Confesses to being "quiet" despite the volcano, but "down" because in the port of Los Cristianos Tenerife he had two paintings stolen from this series, which had a special predilection. Filed a complaint with the National Police, and although he saw the robber fleeing out in a van, could not give more clues to find him, though he shouted from afar: "Thanks for the pictures".
