The material found has been dubbed 'restingolita', for being near the village of La Restinga, and is characterized by a dark surface formed by basaltic magma that cooled very quickly, which provides a greater contrast with light colored interior and composed of volcanic glass with high silica content.

The museum displays has stated that after they have found this double-ended, so that the exhibition will include an explanation of the stone and a recent chronology of the eruption.

The rocks are considered one of the youngest in the world, and have been integrated in a display case within the scope of Rocks and Minerals from the museum's exhibition Living Planet.
