IGN REGISTER 6 EARTHQUAKES SO FAR FOR TUESDAY

The National Geographic Institute (IGN) has registered on the island of El Hierro until 4:47 pm today, Tuesday November 15, a total of six earthquakes of between 2.1 and 2.9 degrees magnitude on the Richter scale.

Of the six earthquakes detected so far, two have been of 2.9 magnitude on the Richter scale. At the moment, IGN does not contain any earthquakes that have been felt by the population.

According to the National Geographic Institute (IGN) collected by Diario EL HIERRO and could be subject to change, the six earthquakes were located in the northwestern town of La Frontera, in the sea, and between 17 and 23 miles of depth.

TREMOR AND DEFORMATION

Moreover, recent data collected by Pevolca for the level of tremors, are with very few pulses of short duration (minutes) during the day yesterday, no major changes in the amplitude of tremor in the background. In the analysis of seismic data it does not show evidence of a second source of tremor in the north.

As for the deformations, the monitoring stations in the east of l Golfo show stability on the island, except for a slight tendency towards the north of the station located in tEl Golfo HI03. In the vertical component there is still a phenomenon of deflation in the south of the island.
