The director of the Geophysical Observatory of the National Geological Institute (IGN) Carmen Lopez, El Hierro asked the public "to trust Scientific work" developed by experts who are following the evolution of eruptive phenomena, as well as the messages they are giving direction of the Emergency Plan de Canarias (Pevolca).

Thus Lopez said when asked about the feeling that some citizens on the island have, that is not providing all relevant information to the public or the actual data is altered so as not to cause alarm.

In this sense, it was denied by IGN that they had detected a previous tremor second signal indicating a current underwater eruption in El Golfo, which it is spreading in some Internet forums. "With the current data from the monitoring network there is no evidence that there is another tremor signal," says the scientist. What it has done is to install equipment by IGN to distinguish different simultaneous sources of tremor, so it made clear that "if there is a second source, we are able to distinguish which is associated with La Restinga".

In IGN's campaign headquarters in La Restinga, Lopez reiterated his request to citizens to trust the Pevolca. "The management plan is still good, and there is full coordination with scientific groups, which has allowed the right steps to be taken and well implemented."

José María Blanca-CEO of this organization in the Canary Islands, 'underscores that "the volcanology requires monitoring and forecasts can be made space a few hours or days, as nature gives signals to let you know in advance what could happen" so to activate the appropriate civil protection measures.
