El Hierro registered 14 earthquakes, 3.2M felt by the population

The National Geographic Institute (IGN) has registered on the island of El Hierro during the night a total of 14 earthquakes of between 1.7 and 3.2 magnitude on the Richter scale.

The largest of the earthquakes recorded at 07.28 hours, had a magnitude of 3.2 degrees and was felt by the population. This earthquake occurred northwest of the town of La Frontera. This event was located at sea 20 kilometers deep.

The rest of recorded earthquakes were mainly west of Frontera, between 16 and 21 kilometers deep. The last of these, 2.0 degrees, occurred at 09:49 hours at about 19 km depth and epicenter in the sea.

Also, this Sunday is registered in the Isle of Meridian a total of 15 earthquakes of between 1.5 and 3.1 degrees. Of these, two came to be felt by the population and is located northwest of Frontera. The first, of 2.7 magnitude and epicenter at sea, was recorded at 05.39 hours about 23 miles deep, the second 3.1, occurred at 11.51 hours and 23 kilometers deep.
